The FCC EAS Test Reporting System (ETRS) is up and running. The system is for EAS participants to file identifying information, day of test data, and post-test data related to a nationwide test. The ETRS provides several new features that ease the data-entry burden on EAS participants, encourage timely filings, and minimize input errors. The ETRS also offers new data fields that are responsive to stakeholder comments.

The SBE Mentor Program will help broadcast engineers who are new to the field gain some practical knowledge from seasoned veterans. For the mentor, it’s a chance to give something back. For the mentee, it’s an ideal way to gain knowledge and understanding on technical issues that can otherwisetake years to accumulate.

Nine states in the western U.S. and upper Midwest will participate in an IPAWS/EAS regional test in June.The IPAWS Program Office of the Federal Emergency Management Agency is conducting a series of webinars in preparation for the June 15th event (rescheduled from its original date of June 9) in California, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, North Dakota, Oregon, South Dakota, Wyoming and Washington state. more…
