June 25, 2014 – The U.S. Supreme Court today ruled 6-3 in favor of Broadcasters and against the Internet service, Aereo. The Court’s decision, “reverses a lower court ruling denying broadcasters’ injunction against the [Aereo] service,” according to a report by Broadcasting & Cable. more…
Special 2014 NAB Show UpdateThe NAB Show opens Saturday, April 5 in Las Vegas and there is much for the broadcast engineer to do, beginning with day one. The annual Ennes Program, the “opening act” of the NAB Broadcast Engineering Conference, begins at 8 am on the 5th and runs until 5 pm. The program includes a diverse list of topics and subject matter experts ready to make their presentations, with the theme of the day, “Best Engineering Practices.” Sunday, the BEC continues with NAB EVP and CTO Kevin Gage providing the opening message at 9 am, followed by a seemingly endless array of technical paper presentations that extend through Thursday at 2 pm.
