Good news, it seems, as the FCC has announced a 90-day extension to the filing window for fixed-satellite service (FSS) earth stations operating in the 3.7 – 4.2 Ghz frequency band. The new deadline is now October 17, 2018. There will still be a filing fee—currently $435 for antenna(s) located at the same address or geographic location.

Also as of June 24, your SAGE and DAS Emergency Alert Systems units will require an update to receive EAS tests issued in the CAP format. See the article in this Newsletter or check the links:  Digital Alert Systems  or   SAGE Alerting Systems.

As always, Steve Dresser has the latest FCC broadcast actions and applications of local interest. Check out his article to find out if you’ll need to reprogram that button on the dashboard radio in your Buick.

Our Fearless SBE 66 Chairman, Jaime Gonzalez want to remind all of you that our upcoming meeting (and future meetings as well) will return to the Mitsui Buffet in Clovis. Details and directions in this Newsletter. Bring your comments, questions, and appetites this Thursday the 28th at noon.
