It’s NAB time again, boys and girls! The usual Las Vegas venue April 7 – 12. If you have a paid SBE membership you’ll be eligible for some free prizes and anyone is invited to attend the various SBE sponsored activities at the show. SBE invites you to stop by their booth at its new location. More information on NAB and SBE events can be found  HERE.

Move over Cumulus, iHeartRadio has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy this month. iHeartRadio owns 850 radio stations across the U.S. Local stations include; B95 KBOS-FM 94.9, Soft Rock  KSOF 98.9, The Beat KFBT  103.7, La Preciosa KFSO 92.9, The Wolf KHGE 102.7, Power Talk KALZ 96.7 & 1400, Fox Sports Radio KCBL 1340, and  KRDU 1130. It is hoped that the move will erase half of iHeart’s current debt leaving only $10 billion (and some change.)

The crew from Telos Alliance is in town and wants to talk telephones. POTS, ISDN, VoIP–where are we headed? Production Line Manager for Telos, Joe Talbot will be on hand at the upcoming SBE66 March meeting with an interesting lesson in landline history. Catch his presentation Thursday, March 29th at 6:00 PM at the One Putt Broadcasting Facility (KFIG, KFPT, KFRR, KJFX, KJZN, KJWL, KYNO) in Downtown Fresno.  The latest goodies from Telos will be available to view as the Telos van will be lurking in the parking lot. If you can’t make the 6PM presentation, the van will be open after 4PM if you would like to chat with crew about updating your facility with the latest from Telos. Rumor has it that, our friend Joe Mauk, Research and Development Telephony Engineer for Telos might be in the drivers seat. Stop by and say Hello.  Be sure to ask our presenter Joe Talbot about his “Phone Museum”. He might even show you some pictures. See you at the meeting.
