KEN HOLDEN

Our annual picnic marks the beginning of autumn and cooler weather! This has been a record year for heat, so the cool is most welcome. I’m preparing to cook up a mess of tri-tip for our picnic at beautiful Meadow Lakes and hope you can all join us for yet another SBE Gala.

On a sad note, our dear friend Debbie Manning who used to come up every year with Pat and Jean Fennacy passed away recently. Her cheerful smile will be missed at our picnic this year. Our heartfelt sympathy goes out to Pat and Jean for their loss of a dear friend and companion of more than 30 years.

Several transmitter sites will be available for viewing this year and I hope many of you will take advantage of seeing what’s going on at these facilities we’ve come to appreciate. Directions and suggestions for what to bring can be found in this Newsletter. I hope to see you all up on the hill this weekend. The weather will still be a little warm but very comfortable considering what we’ve been through this past summer.
