Most, if not all of you have registered in the EAS Test Reporting System (ETRS). All stations are required to log into this new system and complete the initial ETRS form, known as Form One, by Friday August, 26th. If you haven’t filed yet, this Newsletter contains information and links to assist in the process, including how to apply for a waiver. There is even a link to the FCC Webinar given by FCC Attorney Austin Randazzo concerning the ETRS registration. Remember, the first registration deadline is Friday August 26th.
Locally, the SJV FCC Local EAS Board will be meeting tomorrow (August 25th) to finalize the San Joaquin Valley Local Emergency Area Plan. Also to be addressed will be the technical issues that are preventing the Hanford NWS from being compliant as the area LP1. The meeting is being held at the San Joaquin Valley Weather Forecast Office (NWS) in Hanford. The meeting begins at 10AM and is expected to run to at least 12 noon. SBE Chairman Ken Holden has asked that those of you involved with the EAS at your stations make an effort to attend this meeting, your input would be appreciated. The Monthly SBE 66 Central Valley buffet lunch meeting will follow the conclusion of the SJV EAS (approximately 12:30 PM) and be held in Hanford to accommodate attendees. SBE Chapter 66 will host the buffet lunch. Directions to both the Hanford NWS (meeting 10-12:30PM) and the SBE66 monthly meeting at Super Buffet in Hanford (12:30 -2:00PM) are included in this Newsletter.
