KEN HOLDEN

In a drought, raining on one’s parade isn’t a bad thing…

Finally!! After 2+ months of winter with no rain, our hope in our broadcast weathermen has been restored. What took them so long? I was lucky enough to go to Meadow Lakes Saturday and witness lots of rain and hail but no snow yet. Maybe tomorrow…

It’s been a busy year for us all but we can call that “Job Security”. We’ve had some very interesting meetings this past year and will try to get some varied talent to enlighten us further in the ways of broadcasting. Congratulations are in order for our old friend Al Kinney for obtaining his Professional Engineer certification. Hard work and self-study paid off for Al who can now add P.E. to his signature. Great work Al. This is the time of the year we indulge in some great Italian cusine at our annual SBE Pizza Blast at Luna’s Fine Italian Restaurant at 349 Pollaski in Downtown Clovis. Luna’s is right next door to the Corner Cafe just north of third street. The festivities start at 7PM with salad, pasta, pizza, and your favorite beverage. Following the meal we will have our election of 2012 officers then conclude with desert and fine fellowship…ALL FOR FREE!! SBE Chapter 66 will be hosting the gala event to thank the membership and friends for a great 2011. Don’t forget to bring your significant other along so you can stay out past 8:30. Thanks to all who helped through the past year and see you all on Thursday the 26th at Luna’s.
