California’s turn for the IPAWS/EAS regional test is coming up in June. The (revised) date for this voluntary test is June 15th at 1:20 p.m. PDT. DHS-FEMA will be conducting a series of webinars to disseminate information on EAS device configurations for the National Periodic Test (NPT) event code used for the test. Webinar times and dates are included in this Newsletter.
The May meeting of Central Valley Chapter 66 is Thursday, May 26th at the HomeTown Buffet in Clovis (Shaw and Peach). It will be a no-host lunch at 12 noon in the back banquet room, please pay as you enter.
Gene Davis, retired News Anchor and familiar voice at KMJ radio passed away in March. Many of you may remember Gene as the editor of the Central Valley Signal Newsletter back when it was delivered to your (snail) mailbox. He and his wife Kim were often present at SBE 66 gatherings.
An update on the passing of John Lockhart. There will be a memorial celebration at the Meadow Lakes Club in Auberry on Saturday, June 25th at 12pm. There will be a potluck gathering after a short service at the Meadow Lakes picnic area. Bring your favorite dish or dessert and your beverage of choice. I’ll pass along any updated details when available.
