This SBE live webinar is the third in a series that focuses on utilizing protocol analysis to “see” IP network activity as it is difficult to remediate what can’t be seen. It will help you expand your understanding of applying protocol analysis using the open-source protocol analyzer application, Wireshark.The webinar will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 23 from 2 to 3 p.m. ET.

The webinar builds on the “getting started with Wireshark” fundamentals presented during part 2 of the series (available as an archived webinar at the SBE website, as is part 1) and will focus on advanced techniques, capabilities and features of Wireshark to customize views, create custom filters and understand IP network capture analysis results.

Participants should have an understanding of basic IP network operation, OSI Model data flow layers, Ethernet basics, IP packet make-up and basic Wireshark navigation, or have attended part one and two of this webinar series.

Pecena serves as the director of engineering of TTVN: The enterprise videoconference and data network serving the Texas A&M University System and public broadcast stations KAMU-TV and KAMU-FM serving the Brazos Valley area. Pecena has more than 35 years of broadcast telecommunications experience and holds BS and MS degrees from Texas A&M University.

Completion of the webinar qualifies for one credit identified under Category I of the Recertification Schedule for SBE Certifications. The registration fee for SBE members is $55 and for non-members, $85. Pre-registration is required.
