The weather cooperated, the turn-out was good, and the food was great for last months SBE picnic at Meadow Lakes. Thanks to all who came early and stayed late to help coordinate, set-up and clean up.  Find out who was there and catch a few shots of the festivities in this Newsletter.

The National SBE Board of Directors met Oct. 13 in Madison, WI. Among the decisions made was the approval to conduct a broadcast engineering compensation survey in 2016, category adjustments to the SBE National Awards Program, the location of the SBE National Meetings in 2016 through 2018 and adoption of the organization’s budget for 2016. The compensation survey is planned to be conducted in the late spring and will include technical positions in TV, radio and related areas. The changes to the national awards include several new categories, two categories that will be discontinued and several others that will be modified; all with the aim of better reflecting the technical broadcast media field and SBE chapter activities today. The board approved a $7 increase in individual membership dues, the first increase in three years, effective January 1, 2016. Dues will be $82.00  up from the current $75.00.
