The FCC has released a public notice that sets a July 9 deadline for all auction-eligible TV stations to file information on technical facilities. They have also released a list of all stations that they find to be eligible to participate in the incentive auction. These are also the stations that will be protected in the post-auction repacking of the television spectrum if their licenses are not surrendered as part of the auction process.
The Public Notice asks licensees to certify on a new FCC form, the “Pre-Auction Technical Certification Form,” FCC Form 2100 Schedule 381, that the information in the FCC’s technical databases regarding their station is accurate or, if it is not, to file corrections and explanations as to why the information is wrong. More information and links are provided in this Newsletter to assist in completing the FCC form by the July 9 deadline.
Many of you might be familiar with, worked on, or broadcast through Collins transmitters.
Here’s a picture of the classic 20V2 (photo left) high fidelity AM broadcast transmitter capable of 1000 watts. A real
collectors item for any Art Collins fan. For the die-hard Collins collector, why not buy the house (photo right) where Art Collins lived in Cedar Rapids Iowa–it’s for sale. Open house this Sunday, 4 bedroom 2 bath over 1700 square feet for under 90 grand.
For something a bit closer and cheaper, come out to the Clovis Hometown Buffet on Thursday June 25th for the monthly SBE gathering. We’ll be talking about any local broadcasting concerns over lunch. Pay as you enter and meet in the back banquet room, see you there.
