The NAB Broadcast Engineering Conference (BEC) provides six days of technical educational opportunities. It kicks off with the full-day Ennes Program on Saturday, April 11. This year’s Ennes program theme is the, “All IP Facility.” Sunday through Thursday sessions include dozens of technical papers and panels discussing the full range of broadcast and media technology. Complete session details are available at the 2015 NAB Show website. The SBE is the NAB’s presenting partner of the BEC.
Be sure to include the SBE Membership Meeting and Reception on your show schedule. The meeting includes recognition of chapter certification chairmen who have reached service milestones, recognition of ERI for 25 years of support to the SBE, and updates on SBE programs and initiatives. There’ll be some great prizes, including a Blackmagic TV Studio Camera, $300 Fry’s Electronics gift card, dinner gift cards, SBE logo items and a USB wall charger for the first 150 in attendance, compliments of Blackmagic Design. The meeting will be held in Room S228 of the Las Vegas Convention Center.
The Membership Meeting will be followed immediately by a free reception for all members and their guests, from 7 to 8 pm, also in S228. Light snacks and beverages will be provided, thanks to the support from a number of SBE Sustaining Members. Pre-registration for the reception is not required.
The SBE exhibit booth will be open Sunday through Thursday, located at the north end of the second floor lobby of the LVCC South Hall (same location as last year). Stop by the booth for technical books, SBE certification information, renew or sign up for membership and meet members of the national SBE Board of Directors, Certification Committee and staff. Daily prize drawings for $200 Fry’s Electronics gift cards will be held Monday – Wednesday. Stop by the booth each day to register.
SBE members who do not have the NAB member rate available to them may register for the 2015 NAB Show and receive $100 off the non-NAB member rate. Use the special discount code, SD02. Members can also go directly to the NAB Show registration page where the code is already imbedded in the link. The discount is good for $100 off Flex or SMART pass non-member registration, or a free Expo-Only registration. NOTE: after March 27, the NAB will include a processing fee of $25 with all registrations that use the discount code.
