Remembering Ed Lamb (1935-2013)

Edward Gene Lamb passed away peacefully in his home on April 24, 2013, in Porterville, California, surrounded by his family. He was born in Porterville on November 11, 1935.

Ed worked as an Electronic Technician for KTIP and Kl00 radio stations, KMPH, Trinity Broadcasting Network, and Daystar television stations, and The Wasco State Prison.
Edward had many hobbies. He enjoyed golfing, photography, playing the guitar, as well as working with computers. He obtained his airplane and helicopter pilot’s licenses and loved to fly commercially, as well as for his own enjoyment. He loved to talk to many friends on amateur radio (callsign K6LSB) and was an active member of P.A.R.A., Porterville Amateur Repeater Association.

Ed attended Strathmore Elementary and Strathmore High School. He attended Cal Poly, as well as taking many classes from other colleges. He was in the United States Army for 4 years, was stationed in Fort Bragg, Kentucky when he was a paratrooper, and stationed in Hawaii when he was in the Military Police. After an honorable discharge he went on to serve 6 years in the National Guard, and 4 years in the Navel Reserve.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Saundra Lamb, his son Gary Lamb of Boston, Massachusetts.  A Memorial Service was held Saturday, May 4, 2013 at the Faith Baptist Church in Strathmore, California.
