Yes it really is June (heck, almost July) and yes it’s really 2012.  You know what they say about time when you’re having fun.

So what if you are just mildly amused,  does it feel more like September 1997?

Thanks to Jim Kubit and Harry Forman for a fine presentation and hosted lunch at the May meeting.  You’ll find a few photos of that event posted here somewhere (–see May 2012 Meeting photos).

By now, most of you have prodded, poked and cursed at your EAS system to comply with the June 30th deadline for EAS/CAP compliance.  There is a phone number for more information from the Public Safety and Homeland Security Bureau, located in the CAP Compliance Looms article.  Comments are active on that post at the SBE66 website for anyone who may want to share some last minute words of wisdom or pose a question.

“How long have you been in the broadcast engineering industry?” Answer that question at the SBE membership blog, and you’ll be eligible to win a $25 gift certificate from Fry’s electronics.  More details and contest rules in the SBE Blog Contest post.

A reminder that we have a no host lunch this Thursday, at the HomeTown Buffet in Clovis starting at noon.  We’ll be hashing out the details for the planned trip to tour the Sutro Tower in August among other items.  Grab your lunch plate and meet us in the back banquet room–hope to see you there.
