SBECMACbuildingCMAC is a membership-based, non-profit corporation created to help local organizations, independent producers, non-profits, schools, public agencies and others better connect with our community through the use of media – primarily television and the web.

The Community Media Center is located in the Fresno Met building in downtown Fresno (map). This modern facility features a spacious 900 square foot production studio, private editing suites, meeting rooms, classroom space, and a computer lab, along with a variety of portable production gear. It also houses our automated broadcast center, which delivers programming to CMAC TV channels on Comcast, AT&T U-verse, and the Internet. The Media Center offers a full range of production tools and training at low cost to community users in Fresno and Clovis allowing organizations and independent producers to create their own TV programs and web content. CMAC also operates three television channels on Comcast and AT&T U-verse available for local organizations and independent producers to air programs they create.

 Dude, Where’s my Tri-Tip?

Although this question has been asked many times before, the answer has always been less than satisfactory–until NOW!

Just ask these two guys:

You would think these two retired (dudes), who’ve spent most of their professional days trying to keep things from going up in smoke, wouldn’t have a clue about the fine art of grilling—but you’d be WRONG. They’re experts at letting the smoke out.

IMG_0164 (640x480)In fact, Ken Holden and Ron Hunt can also cook it, slice it and serve it. (Dude, we’re talking about tri-tip here.) According to Pat Fennacy, “That Holden could never figure out what was wrong with my Continuum Transfunctioner but he can cook-up one hellava tri-tip!”

Dude, we have finally found your tri-tip. Come and pick it up yourself by taking the short drive up to the  Meadow Lakes picnic area Saturday, September 20th. Remember, this is an SBE66 family-and-friends event, so you better not be the only one in the buggy on the drive up the hill. As always, SBE will provide the Tri-Tip BBQ and refreshments, but there’s more. That’s where you come in. This is a pot-luck event. Attendees whose last names end in A-K should bring salads and/or side dishes. Names ending in L-Z should bring dessert items. It’s OK to break the rules if you have a special dessert or side dish you want to bring. Ice for the drinks is always welcome. The festivities officially start at noon, but help setting up the tables is always appreciated if you can arrive earlier. We’ll also figure out how to throw in an official SBE66 meeting (short) somewhere along the way.

After you can eat and drink no more, join the caravan for a quick tour of your favorite Central Valley broadcast transmitter facilities.IMG_0183 (640x480)

“Whoa, I bet you can talk to the whole universe with that honkin’ tower!”

See you at Meadow Lakes, Saturday September 20, at Noon.  Don’t miss it!
